Our founder, and Chief Operating Officer Debranette Mattis is a Professor with over 11 years of experience working in the legal profession. Debranette spent 6 years as a family law clerk at a criminal, litigation and family law firm. During her time with the firm, she played a critical role in drafting, legal research and file management. In 2017, she completed her law degree with the University of London. In 2018, she joined the Legal Studies Department at Centennial College. She teaches in the Law Clerk, Office Administration (Legal), and Court Support Program.

Teaching law clerks and other support staff has given Debranette the extraordinary opportunity to help aspiring law clerks understand the vital role they play in supporting law firms. She imparts the practical skills she learned while clerking to equip students with the guidance needed to excel in this role.

Having worked in a supportive role for most of her professional life, Debranette understands the demands of firm life and the critical role of a law clerk. With her knowledge and experience, she has worked with both seasoned lawyers as well as new practitioners to provide legal support that is personalized to the needs of their practice.

CASE STUDY 01

Firm M had several delays with their family matters before the court, due to senior counsels being in trials for weeks on end. They hired us to draft an urgent motion for their client, we submitted same Three days later as requested. The motion was heard, and the orders sought were granted.

We were retained by Firm S for two (2) years, where we covered 80% of their legal drafting.
